Something New!!: Some parents have suggested that going back to search for the many emails for information can be difficult. So we are trying something new. Leslie has set up some links on the right hand side of the Freestyle Ski League information page:
WFSL Updates and a WFSL Calendar. The updates will be posted from the emails sent out. The calendar will be updated as the schedules are confirmed.
Check it out, we think you will find it useful! http://skiwentworth.ca/snow_school/wentworth_freestyle_ski/
November 30, 2013
We have 10 athletes who have expressed interest in this trip so we will be moving forward with the planning. It is not too late to join in if you have been undecided up until now.
By a resounding landslide (100%) Sunday River is the venue of choice. The out of country sanction has been applied for.
Trip dates will be Dec 19 (travel day) with three days training on snow Dec 20 – 22nd.
Online registration will open on Monday on the Ski Wentworth Online store. http://skiwentworth.ca/store/categories.php?category=Freestyle-Ski-Programs The cost of the trip will be $450 plus hst. This includes the coaching fees, coaches's accommodation and meal allowance and coache's lift tickets. In an effort to keep the cost of the camp low, Thor and a second coach, if required, will need to be provided a drive by someone in the group. We need 6 paid in full to make the trip a go. Once paid there will be no refunds.
Every athlete attending will require out of country insurance from CFSA at an additional cost. We will be checking this, it is a strong requirement for the out of country sanction. Go to http://freestyleski.com/member-services/cfsa-member-registration/ to register or upgrade your membership to include the out of country insurance. It is good until April 30, 2014 so will still be in place for the spring camp and any other out of country trips taken this season. Please let me know if you have any difficulties.
All traveling parents should have an associate membership with CFSA.
Thor and Conny
NOTE: If you did not participate in the summer or fall programs:
1. A CanFree 3 membership will be required for this trip and for the programs at Wentworth. Please go to the above membership link to register.
2. If you ski at Wentworth you must join the WFSL winter program prior to attending this camp.
3. If you are from another hill you are required to join the WFSL at a cost of $100 plus hst to participate in our off season programs (good until end of April 2014)

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST REQUESTED BY SUNDAY EVENING:
Please respond (yes or no) if you are interested in attending the December Training Camp?
What is your preferred location: Quebec or Sunday River?
If there is enough interest we will get the trip online for registration early next week.
Thor has prepared the following information:
Hello all freestyle athletes and family.
The Wentworth Freestyle Ski League is in the process of planing an early season training camp to get our athletes on snow and primed for the season.
We are looking at December 19-22 with three days of training on snow.
Day one will be a return to technical skiing, day two and three will be split between park and pipe(depending on features available).
We have been looking at two possible venues. Quebec city area and Sunday river Maine. (We have not been able to confirm december access to sugarloaf (CVA) airbag so the loaf looks like a easter/spring training venue)
Sunday River has made a huge commitment to freestyle ski venues this season. They are already blowing snow in their brand new terrain park. They will have the most freestyle terrain open in the east but there are added costs associated with traveling to USA.
Quebec City is central to four ski areas but we would likely focus on stoneham and le relais.
Stoneham is blowing snow in their new jump park(first jump park in 8 years) and halfpipe(pipe is still not likely to be ready before Christmas). They also offer us cheap lift tickets.
le relais is the venue for the 2014 jr nationals and will also have a new Xl park for this season. I have asked Nicolas Fontaine for a schedule on freestyle terrain building in Quebec area and he is checking into this for us.
While we are at the mercy of the weather we must also make a decision on where to book.
Both Maine and Quebec have pros and cons and they really do even out pretty close.
Our questions are… Who's is in? And what's your preference?
